The Gift of a Bible Journal: Hope & Guidance

I had never been one to journal, but a couple years ago my oldest daughter gave me "100 days of Bible promises" by Shanna Noel for Chirstmas. It is perhaps the most meaningful gift received from her. This little devotional/journal helps me pour out my heart to God. It leads me to write about every situation and thought I am dealing with. When I am done my heart feels lighter- like a weight has been lifted.

Bearing witness to the long forgotten- the times there was no clear answer in sight, the hurdles I faced, and the heartfelt prayers I offered. And then seeing the answers that eventually came my way. Visually tracking my life serves as a beacon of hope. When the path ahead appears dim, and I am engulfed by questions and fears, reopening my journal allows me to see the many ways God is always at work.

Obstacles that once loomed large have transformed into testimonies. Today I don't think I would even blink an eye at many of the situations I once found stressful. Each written word proves that God is always with me and that He cares.

Faith is not always about certainty. Sometimes it's just about trusting God and holding onto to his promises. Thumbing thru all that I have written is a constant reminder of God's faithfulness and His fingerprints all across the pages of my life.
